Letter From The Tennis Chairperson
Dear North Hempstead Membership,
We are looking forward to another wonderful tennis season at the Club. Let me start off by echoing Jon Camera’s thanks to Peter Fischbach. After 26 years of leading our tennis program, Peter Fishbach has retired. Peter was instrumental in developing the outstanding program that we all enjoy each year. We hope you will join us honor Peter's commitment to the Club over the years at an event that has yet to be scheduled.
Robert Ion will take on the lead role as the Director of Tennis and is well positioned to provide a seamless transition given his 24 years at the club working by Peter's side. Please join me on congratulating Robert on this promotion. The Board and I are excited for his enthusiasm, energy, and ideas.
After taking a year off, I am returning as your Tennis Chairman. I would like to thank Roger Weilep for his leadership last year. Roger has moved on to be the Membership Chair. I will be focused on helping Robert assume the lead role and ensuring a smooth transition in leadership.
April 16
th is our targeted opening day but as you know, the weather plays an important part in the preseason conditioning and the courts do not dry quickly early in the season so be sure to check with Robert about court conditions and availability before you plan your first few outdoor sessions.
